How To Make Beef Stew

Beef Stew Recipe

You do need to allow several hours for it to slowly cook but believe me it is definitely worth that wait!
4 tbsp olive oil
1kg stewing steak, diced
1 brown onion, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 x 400g tin diced tomatoes
1 Cup beef stock
2 dried bay leaves
1 tbsp coconut aminos
1 tsp smoked paprika
Handful fresh basil
Salt and pepper

How To Make Beef Stew :
- Heat half the oil in a large pot and sauté the beef until browned all over. Remove and set aside.
- Heat remaining oil in same pot and cook the onion, celery and garlic until soft and translucent. 
- Return the beef to the pot and add all other ingredients, stir till well combined and bring to boil.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and cover with a lid. Simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove lid in the last hour to allow sauce to reduce and thicken. The meat should be lovely and tender and falling apart. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Enjoy served with vegetables or creamy mashed cauliflower
