Orange Cake


Ingredients :
Cooking Oil - 1/2 cup
Curd - 3/4 cup
Sugar - 3/4 cup
All purpose flour/Maida - 1.75 cup
Butterscotch essence - 1 tsp
Orange juice - 1 Orange
Orange zest - 1/2 tsp
Tuti Fruti - 3 TBsp
Corn flour - 1 TBsp
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1 pinch
Orange color - 1 tsp (Optional)

TIP:
1. In baking, Maida, baking soda, baking powder, salt, corn flour are called as dry ingredients

How to make orange cake :
1. Take a mixing bowl, sift all the dry ingredients together
2. Take another mixing bowl, add curd and beat for 1 minute
3. Add sugar and mix well/whisk for 3 minutes in high speed
TIP: If you do not have the whisker/mixer, you can also use the hand egg beater
4. Add oil and whisk/mix well for 3 minutes in high speed
5. Add orange juice, orange zest, orange color and mix well in high speed for 1 minute
6. Add the butterscotch essence and mix well for 1 minute
7. Add the sieved dry ingredients, tuti fruti and mix well in the cut and fold method
TIP: you should not over mix after adding the dry ingredients
8. Preheat the oven
9. Grease the cake tin, spread the butter/parchment paper
10. Pour the cake batter to the cake tin, tap twice to release the air
11. Bake in convection mode in 180°c for 25 minutes
TIP: To check whether the cake is baked or not, prick a knife/fork, if it comes clean then the cake is baked well
12. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes
TIP: IF its not cooled down and you try to unmould, cake will break into pieces
13. Unmould the cake from the cake tin
14. Orange cake is ready to serve and enjoy!!
